What is a joglo, and can guests use it?
A joglo is the traditional Javanese pavilion, built around four central pillars called soko guru that carry a high tiered roof. Ours is open on all sides, with carved timber posts, exposed roof beams and patterned tilework underfoot. It looks straight onto the garden and the brick wall beyond, and it stays cool through the afternoon.
It seats around 100 people, and it is where guests tend to gather. It comes with the stay at no separate charge. There is no rental fee and no separate booking. Wedding ceremonies and large family gatherings have been held here.
If you are planning an event
- Outside catering is welcome.
- Only the tables and chairs already here are available. We do not supply extra.
- Electricity is provided.
- For a lot of vehicles, extra parking is arranged with the neighbours, usually Rp 5,000 to Rp 10,000 per vehicle.
